Guide Index

AoA (global) was permanently shut down long ago, this site will remain up since it may prove useful to international players still playing in CAOA (chinese version, still up).

If you are having issues installing/patching the game (v0.36 or v0.37 client), you need a new patchbase file, which you can get in this link (AoA official forums).
If that link doesn't work, you can find a backup of the file here (this blog).

Mysticrai has made an AoA fansite, it is currently under development, but contains a copy of the patchbase.ini file, downloadable through dropbox. His site can be found here.

A fan forum, made by Midnight_Wolfie, can be found here.

Can rank 5 enhancers be hunted? Or done by quest?

8LordX8 said...

The highest rank enhancers you can get for free are rank 4, given by the Guide NPC after reaching around lvl 31.
You can hunt chips ranging from rank 1 to 3, by killing Commando Daybreaks, and I believe high lvl Guards & Towers in BP still have a low drop chance for rank 1s & 2s.
Quests dont give enhancers I think, only a rank 3 skill chip by lvl 35 or so, in SW. Gl.

So how do ppl get rank 5 enhancers?
how much do rank 4 and 5 shield and combat enhancers cost?

8LordX8 said...

Most players get those either by buying from the Cash Shop, with real money, or by buying from other players who use the Cash Shop. Its possible to obtain those enhancers by mass farming rank 1/2/3 ones, but it takes much longer.
Shield Enhancer 4 = 125 cs points
Shield Enhancer 5 = 750 cs points
Combat Enhancer 4 = 200 cs points
Combat Enhancer 5 = 1200 cs points

oic.. ok

i gt another question i dunno, can help me?

When i use the skill of the skill chip" Kiss of spider", it says that it decreases 60% of the armor's resistance. Does the shield resistance decreases when using the skill?

8LordX8 said...

It only decreases your armor resistance stats. Your energy shield resistances and your shield resistances will not be affected.

oic, thx =D

How do you get the weopon composing thing? you know, the thing that is used to upgrade weopon so that it would have a "Rank 1"? (I sure asked alot of questions in this blog LOL)

8LordX8 said...

Its a Cash Shop/Salary Shop item. So you can only get them there, or buying off a player who got them there. The trade prices were ridiculously high last time I checked though.

Anonymous said...

hi agian, i got another question (haha, i have asked many questions)

How do you get the AOAVIP card and a certificate? I dun even noe wads that LOL

8LordX8 said...

I think they give those to Cash Shop users, when they reach certain amounts of CS points purchased.

Anonymous said...

oic.. aw man , so much things in this game needs cash... sad. Is there any way to get cash without using real money?

8LordX8 said...

The game is extremely P2W (Pay To Win), that's one of the reasons why I quit playing it.
The only other way of getting Cash Shop items is to buy them off a player that uses Cash Shop, but the trade prices are just absurd nowadays. For example:
- A stab chip is usually sold at 5m to 6m, and it costs 50 cs points each. So, 5 stabs = 250 points = 25m to 30m.
- A warehouse/backpack expansion item costs 250 points each, and are usually sold for around 10 or 15m.
- A Weapon Composing optimizer type 3, costs 250 points as well. These are being sold for no less than 70m atm.
- A pair of permanent wings costs 2000 points each, and the last pair I saw was sold for about 200m.
As you can see, the trade prices don't make any sense whatsoever, sellers will just charge whatever they want.
In any case, you can try and join whichever corps controls the city Mare Tranquilitatis, since it gives 1200 Salary points per day, which you can try and buy from the corps. Salary points are used in the Salary Shop, which contains most of the items you can find in the Cash Shop.

And how much hitpoints( % ) is increased when u reconfigurate a weopon into a rank 3?

8LordX8 said...

The increment depends on the weapon's rank, type, and hold status. The values are static anyways, so 2 identical weapons will have identical stats at the same rank.
In any case, for the 2handed advanced 5 medium 3 weapons: axe, canister and emag have around 1k base hp, laser and cartridge have around 1.2k base hp, and particle has around 1.6k base hp.
The dps ratio is kept similar for all anyways, except for melee and canister weapons, which end up proportionally weaker in comparison to the other 4 weapon types. And missile weapons tend to get +0.1 base hp out of each rank only.

Anonymous said...

how do u buy the cash points from the crop that controls Mare Tranquilitatis?

8LordX8 said...

Every 1 hour or so, the Corps Leader can draw an item from the Mare Corps Warehouse NPC, this item, called Coco Crystal Machine, gives 50 Salary Points when used. Corps Leaders then may split those among their members, or trade them to their members in exchange for contribution points, or sell for in game currency, etc.

Anonymous said...

Only the corp leader can take out the coco crystal machine? and wad do u mean in exchange for contributon points?

8LordX8 said...

Only the Corps Leader can grab the machines from the NPC.
And there are repeatable quests that give contribution/reputation points, instead of money and experience. If you do the quests, you can trade the points for machines, if the Leader accepts such trades.

Anonymous said...

arg.. if the leader is selfish and takes all for himself , i will cr8 a guild and kill him LOL!

Oh ya i bought a weopon composing optimizer for 10m. Is that worth it?

8LordX8 said...

Depends on what weapon composing optimizer you bought, type 1, 2 or 3. WC1 and WC2 are cheap, but completely useless. WC3 are the only useful ones, and they don't tend to go for less than 60 or 70m each.

oic, thx for ur help again =)

can i upgrade my weapon if i dont use a weopon composing optimizer?

8LordX8 said...

No, the only way is using weapon composing optimizers.

Anonymous said...

but when i put 2 similar weopons, the level that was supposed for u to pull lighted up. Maybe i can pull it. but i dunno if it would be 0% chance of success when i didnt put the weopon composing optimizer

8LordX8 said...

If you try to pull the lever, it will ask for a weapon composing optimizer.

Anonymous said...

oic

Anonymous said...

how come after the weopon becomes rank 1, my sword's attack interval is "1800-270"? Before it is upgraded, it has an attack interval of "1800-360". what is happening?

8LordX8 said...

I explained that part in the Builds section. Snail nerfed Interval builds, so they are weaker with ranked weapons. If you use -interval % parts along with ranked hand weapons, they will only have around 75% of the interval they claim to have. So if you had a total of -75% interval, for ranked weapons it would become -56% interval. In your case, 270 is 75% of 360.

Anonymous said...

oic, so thats why.. which type of head do u think a shield built enhanced human should use? =)

8LordX8 said...

The only shield related heads are +recovery % rate/speed, they cap at +500%, and can start as rank 1 +100%. Recovery doesn't work during Fight Mode though, so your shield wont heal until the fight is over, and some recovery related functions only do half the amount they show.
Thing is, seems that shield resistance is also bugged now, and it stays active even after your shield is dead. That means, that when your shield is at 0 durability and the enemy starts hitting your armor/energy, the shield resistance still works, so you could just use an armor resistance head to lower even more the damage received.
It depends basically on whether you plan on doing pvp, or pve. For pure pve, a recovery head may be better, while for pvp, a resistance one will work better.

Anonymous said...

so if my shield res is +100, when i put a +20 armor res head , the shield res becomes +120?

8LordX8 said...

No. If your shield dies, then your energy shield & armor start taking damage as usual. However, due to the bug, your shield res (+100 in this case) keeps active even when your armor receives damage too, so if you also have armor resistance, it works as 2 separate resistance calculations. The incoming damage first gets lowered by the 100 res, and then the remainder is lowered again by the armor res (+20 in this case).

Anonymous said...

so u mean that if the shield is dead, my shield res acts like armor res? means if my shield res is +100, if my shield dies , my armor res takes the same amount of damage the shield receives? If my shield takes 100 damage, my armor would take about 100 damage too if my shield is dead?(in other words: the same amount of shield res is transferred into armor res)

8LordX8 said...

Something like that. The dead shield will still cancel part of the damage due to its resistance still working, and then the remaining damage is lowered by your armor or energy shield resistances again. No one knows if its a bug, or if its intended to work that way. This didn't start happening till a few months ago.

Anonymous said...

hmmm.. i hope this still happens right now

Anonymous said...

do u noe where i can get a rank 4 + 5 critical head?

8LordX8 said...

Does that even exist?

Anonymous said...

dunno i think i saw 1 "wasp head" critical + 5 before

Anonymous said...

By the way there is a person named "WOODY". he has an core with -10% interval. The interval of his weopon is "1200-120". I thought there should be a bug in ranked weopons? His weopon is also ranked.

8LordX8 said...

Stuff at around rank 4 or 5 drops in Anilas Ancient Path/West-Logu Path. I think I saw a rank 5+4 crit head once, but I cant remember very well. The best ones are the r1+2 anyways.
And I haven't seen WOODY's mech lately, so I don't know if he was using anything else apart from that core, or if for some odd reason, Dual Talons/Cartridge guns work different.
I have noted however that some cores/cabins' stats tend to work different with ranked weapons, when compared to identical stats obtained off reconfigurable part. Eg, +critical cores/cabins don't seem to add the same bonus than what +critical reconfigurable parts do, when they are used with ranked weapons.

Why are there so many bugs in this game? No wonder every1 choose to use armor resistance built.

Do you know where to hunt the treasure box and keys? And which part of the place?

(Sorry for asking so much questions)

8LordX8 said...

Most players are aware that Snail Game doesn't care much about Age of Armor, they only focus on the Chinese version of the game. That's the reason why AoA is full of bugs, why the game is so poorly translated, why GMs provide almost no support whatsoever, etc. Even the official website has poor translations and several broken links. I personally believe the reason why Armor Resistance build was the only build not to get nerfed, is that AR is the build that benefits the most out of the Cash Shop. So they sorta force you into developing that build only, and using the Cash Shop to make it useful.
Anyways, those boxes are dropped by the Turkeys and Gulo Pirates/Pirates of the Gulo that spawn during the time the late Gold Mines spawn, and they appear in Anillas Ancient Path & West-Logu Path.
As for the keys, the tb1 keys are in the in-game supply shop, the tb2 keys are in the Cash Shop.
